SIMcontrol monitors APN SIM usage, and locks the SIM when the data bundle allocated to a SIM is depleted.
Due to the inherent nature of mobile APN networking, there may be a delay of between 60-90 seconds from the moment the bundle is depleted and when data to the SIM is actually stopped.
This may lead to a negative data balance on the SIM. This data has been used, but has not been billed to a bundle yet. Depending on the rate at which data was consumed at the time, this negative balance can be anything from 1MB to 200MB. This is found especially on streaming video, high data usage devices or devices doing updates.
Example of negative data balance shown on SIMcontrol:
When the SIM is recharged again (manually or automatically through a recharge rule), this negative balance will be subtracted from the new balance.
Example:
Negative balance = 10MB
Recharge = R50MB
New data balance = 40MB
