Data & Airtime usage - How is it calculated & which reports are available?

Under the Usage tab you will find the following reporting options:




Usage Dashboard

The Usage Dashboard gives you a high-level month-by-month overview of estimated data and airtime use across your base, or filtered by Rule or Network.


Important: Use the "FILTER BY" option to first select the network you'd like to view. 

You can view Data Usage, Airtime Usage, and SMS Bundle Usage


The "SIMs with zero data usage" option shows the number of SIMs with no usage during the month selected.

* Keep in mind that usage data on prepaid & hybrid SIMs includes expired data or airtime. How do we calculate usage? More here.
* Negative Usage: Should a SIM be recharged through a channel outside of SIMcontrol (i.e. directly by the network or through another recharge channel), this will reflect as negative usage.



Detailed SIM Usage Overview 



Pick the desired Date Range that you require, and filter by specific RuleNetwork or Tags.




Detailed SIM Usage Report

This is a detailed usage report can be generated in CSV format, giving you usage per SIM per day across a custom date range. This report includes data, airtime and SMS bundle balance usage (SIM type and network dependent).  

Request this report by clicking on the "Detailed Usage" button on the Usage page.

The report will be generated and emailed to you. 


Prepaid, hybrid & global roaming SIMs: 

The SIM Usage Report gives you the estimated daily usage on your SIMs across a custom date range for airtime and data. 


SIMcontrol estimates data or airtime usage by comparing the SIM balances between balance checks on a day-by-day basis. This gives you a fairly good view on what a SIM is using on a daily basis.

Managed APN SIMs:

This report gives you the actual daily data usage on your SIMs (quota usage) across a custom date range.



Recharges
Note: Usage reports do not show recharges & spend. For details on data or airtime spend per SIM, go to the Recharges Tab.
