What is the data SIM balance shown on SIMcontrol?

Prepaid / Hybrid SIMs
On most mobile networks SIMcontrol can monitor and show the balance for each SIM (Airtime / Data / SMS). If you have Usage Rules set up for that SIM, it will also trigger an automated recharge if the SIM balance is below the threshold set up on the rule.

The balance is retrieved directly from the mobile network between 2 and 4 times per day - but this may depend on the network API speed and other factors. We check SIM balances at least once in a 24-hour period, typically overnight.

The balance shown on SIMcontrol is the last balance that was successfully retrieved from the network, and may be from a few hours ago. To make sure SIMs don't run out of airtime or data, make sure your minimum threshold is set at a level that will at least cover one day’s use. In this way your SIM will never run out of data or airtime.

If you want more detailed information on a specific SIM, go to the SIMs tab and select the SIM. This takes you to the detailed view of the SIM including recharge history and balances.

To get a live/current balance on a SIM, use the "Balance Check SIM" feature under the "SIM Actions" tab.

Managed APN
The data balance shown is the remaining data quota available on the SIM. This is updated in ±60 second intervals.
