Prepaid Airtime and Data — what does it cost?

Airtime

Airtime is loaded at face value — if you load R50 of airtime onto a SIM, R50 is deducted from your SIMcontrol balance. There is no markup on airtime recharges.

Data, SMS and voice bundles

SIMcontrol loads standard bundles with normal pricing for Vodacom, MTN, Cell C and Telkom. Prices include VAT and vary by bundle size and validity period (1-day, 7-day, 30-day and longer options are available, depending on the network).

You can view bundle pricing in two places:

1. On the platform — when purchasing a bundle or setting up a recharge, the price of each available bundle is shown before you confirm.

2. On our website — the latest prepaid data price list can be downloaded from simcontrol.co.za/pricing. It is updated whenever the mobile networks change their bundle line-ups or prices, so always check the "Updated" date on the document.

What about platform fees for Prepaid SIMcontrol?

Airtime and bundle purchases are separate from your monthly SIMcontrol platform fee, which is charged per active SIM.

A note on price changes
The mobile networks adjust their bundle offerings from time to time. When they do, the available bundles and prices on SIMcontrol change too. The price shown on the platform at the time of purchase is always the price you pay.
